Dear Friends,
The New Year is well on its way and there are lots of wonderful activities planned in which IWFF members can participate. Summer is just around the corner and promises to be a busy one with Rendezvous and Gatherings planned for Mt. Shasta, Twin Bridges, Montana, Vuollerim, Sweden and the Miramichi River in New Brunswick, Canada. Will you be joining us? There is still room available on some of these trips! Do you have a favorite fishing venue you would like to share with other IWFF members? It is easy to host a Rendezvous (U.S.) or Gathering (International). If you would like to find out more about how to organize one, please contact Judith Austin Brown judith@jabrownlaw.com. Judith can send you a video and guidelines that will show you how easy it is to do.
2012 will be an election year for IWFF. In October, you will be voting for new members to serve on the board. If you are interesting in volunteering to play a leadership role with the club, we would welcome your participation. Please see the announcement in this issue that will give you the details about the upcoming election. Also, spend a few minutes on page 2 of this Newsletter to see all of the volunteer opportunities available to you. Consider joining a committee or even chairing one! Do you have ideas about how we can better serve our members? We would love to hear from you.
I would also like to thank those of you that serve our organization year in and year out. We have a wonderful group of women serving on the board and committees, who work behind the scenes to provide us all with the opportunities to pursue our mission, “to connect women fly fishers and to promote participation in the sport of fly fishing through education, environmental awareness and social networking.” Thank you Peggy, Jan, Rebecca, Ann Marie, Pat, Vanessa, Mary Ann, Joyce, Alice, Rachel, Pam, Ellen, Fanny, Judith B., Pudge, Carolyn, Kate, Judith O., Misako, Liz, Dorothy, Yvonne and Ursula. Any yes, there are many, many more. You make my job a pleasure!
Wishing you all a happy new year and tight lines!
