Susan Baer, Vice President
I started my fishing career as a young girl in Southern California but did little to develop my skills until about five years ago. Through the encouragement of my friend Judith Brown, I joined the Shasta Mayflies and IWFF in order to attend the second annual Mt. Shasta Rendezvous. I have a tremendous love of the outdoors and have spent most of my life skiing, hiking and boating in the high Sierras and San Francisco Bay area. Fly fishing was a natural extension of these other activities and provides me with the wonderful opportunity to spend time in the outdoors. Since most of my professional career was spent as the CFO and CAO of an investment management firm in San Francisco a change in venue was highly prized. I now reside in Sonoma, CA in the heart of the wine country. I have an interest in expanding my fishing experiences and in promoting fly fishing for women everywhere. I am pleased to have attended five different IWFF Rendezvous and several of the annual festivals. I remain an active member of IWFF, the Shasta Mayflies, Golden West Fly Fishers and the Mt. Tamalpais Fly Fishers. |

Rebecca Blair Rebecca currently resides in El Cerrito, CA with her husband, Bill and her yellow lab, Samantha. She has been fishing since she was in gradeschool, but didn't take up flyfishing until 1993 when Bill introduced her to the sport. Searching for women to also fish with, she joined Golden West Women Fly Fishers in 1994 and IWFF in 2000, attending the first ever women's international festival in San Francisco. She has served as the GWWF Membership Chair since 2003 and assists with the GWWF "rookie" program for beginning anglers. She is also involved with the Casting for Recovery Program. Through the 2007 IWFF Mt Shasta Rendezvous, she met "fun fishing women" from other clubs and promptly became a member of the Shasta Mayflies. In addition, she is a member of the Diablo Valley Fly Fishers, and the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club. |

Kate Blubaugh Year 2000, I began my fly- fishing experience shortly after a
divorce, watching Oprah, there was a short film clip of a famous model/actress
fly-fishing and instinctively knew this was for me. My love and background of
the outdoors drew my attention to the sport of fly- fishing. My background in sports as a participant and coach for several sports that made
it a “no brainer” to teach and share the sport of fly- fishing. It is a life
-time passion, gives me great pleasure to have helped found new women fly
fishing clubs in the state of Nevada and recently in the Netherlands. Goals for the year 2009 for IWFF is to create a Gathering of women fly fishers in Austria, keep the International Fly Club directory and CLC News on our website updated for the year 2009. |
